Today, I'll be interviewing, the one and only Santa Claus!
S stands for Santa. Me: Hi there, Mr. Claus. Thanks for being here. S: My pleasure. Well, it's the holiday season, and there's a lot to talk about. Me: Are you ready for Christmas? It's just 3 days left! S: Of course. This year, I have a great schedule, and guess what? my elves found out how to make some great machines. Me: So, speaking of that, how are the elves doing with the gifts? S: It's great! I've had an elf, Snowball, create a factory and thousands of presents are made with just a push of a button. Me: Wow, that's great. Have any kids sent you letters lately? S: I've had a few, but ever since one of my elves set up an email account, kids only seem to want so send me emails! Me: How are your reindeer? S: They all are finally getting along with Rudolph and have stopped teasing him. Although Blitzen still despises Rudolph, the other reindeer are trying to calm her down. Me: So, do you actually know when each child is asleep and awake? Do you really have a naughty or nice list? S: Can you keep a secret? I can't actually watch every kid in the world all the time. I have so many elves that each elf just watches one child the whole year. And the naughty or nice list does exist, but nobody ever sees it. Even I don't know who's on it! Me: So what are you looking forward to this Christmas? S: Hmm... probably just stopping by at houses and giving gifts to those kids who are going to be so happy in the morning! Me: What do you plan to do after Christmas? S: I'll just hang out with the Easter Bunny. He told me that he needed help with decorating the eggs. And Mrs. Claus promised me some excellent turkey on Christmas day. Me: What's something you want for Christmas? S: I do wish I had a new suit. But maybe not a red one. How about a violet one? And I need some white hair dye. This beard doesn't stay pearly white with no effort! Me: What's your least favourite thing about Christmas? S: I guess it would have to be the last minute rush on December 24th morning, where all the elves and I are packing up the very last presents and getting coal for the naughty ones. Me: Is there anything else you dislike about delivering gifts? S: Well, probably that the families always leave out milk and cookies for me. I could use something a little healthier, maybe like carrots or apples. I'm really trying to lose some fat. And also, I hate kids who don't believe in me. I'm as real as the tooth fairy! Me: Er... about that... As the weather turns nippy and frosty, as the wind starts to become colder, evergreen wreaths hang on doors, Christmas trees are decorated and start to sparkle, you know that can only mean one thing! It's finally December! December, the last month of the year, red and green decorations and bells are draped over walls to remind you that Christmas is around the corner! Just twenty-five days until a visit from Santa. And a new year is just a month away. This year has been so quick! 2015 is just 30 days away from ending. Time to get out my New Year's Resolution List. Here are some festive jokes to get you into the spirit of Christmas: Check out the Christmas page for christmasy things that I will update frequently.
ATTENTION! THIS POST MIGHT BE DISTURBING. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED. BRACE YOURSELF FOR SOME FREAKY PICTURES. TO CALM YOURSELF AND NOT GET NIGHTMARES, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO. I glance at the clock, which displays 5 am. 1 more hour till success. I flip through the surveillance cameras, making sure that the wretched animatronics were not out to get me. My shivering gradually decreasing, I work up the courage to open the door. It's a risk, but my battery is running low, and unless I reduce my power usage, I could come to a horrible end. As the door opens, I start to feel faint and regret my choice. But there's nobody there so I turn around and head back to my desk. I stop when I hear pacing footsteps. I swivel around to see a freakish brown figure looming at the doorway. Its eyes are snake-like and deadly, glowing dangerously. As it lunges forward, I shriek and... Close the game window. Five Nights At Freddy's has been all the rage. There have been sequels, parodies, even remakes, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Little did I know that it was a rash decision. http://chromeboxx.weebly.com/play-five-nights-at-freddys-1-online-free.html Paste this link into your browser to play a version of FNAF, since the original one is not free. When I saw the menu page of the game, I was considering choosing a different game that wasn't so nightmarish. But I clicked on play. After a brief introduction and vague instructions, I find myself in a dark, gloom-ridden room. The Security Office. After switching between the different cameras, I observe the characters. Foxy is nowhere to be found, but Bonnie, Chica and Freddy himself are assembled on the stage, eyeing me with a blood-curdling smile. Shaky, I go back to the office and notice that my battery charge was slowly reducing. I had to open the door or all my energy would slowly slip away. Looking at the security cameras again, I find that Bonnie, the bunny with a menacing look and ghostly eyes, has left his (or is it her? I never know) position and is creeping around the halls. Breaking a cold sweat, I flicker through the other cameras. Jumping when I see Chica, the female animatronic chicken with macabre purple eyes and a monstrous, devious grin staring into the cameras, I feel the hair on the back of my neck rise, and a chill runs down my spine. The animatronics were all coming for me. Foxy, the fox with the luminous glow in his eyes was peeking around the door, Chica was peeping in curiously at the window, Bonnie was roaming the halls, waiting for me, while the infamous Freddy was right around the corner. As a wail escaped my lips, the lights flickered off and Freddy's deadly eyes were at the door. His face pops up on my screen suddenly, opening his mouth to reveal sharp teeth, just right to bite my head off. I scream and cover my eyes, closing the game before I do. And that was how the most horrific day of my life went. Alright, maybe I exaggerated that a bit. Greek Mythology is one of the most fascinating things in this world. The myths are interesting and sensible, sometimes with morals that help us in the modern world. In this post, you'll read some amazing myths.
Have you ever wondered why there are seasons? Hades, the god of the Underworld, had fallen in love with Persephone, the Greek Goddess of agriculture's (Demeter) daughter. He took her to the Underworld without telling a single soul. Demeter was worried, since she couldn't find her daughter. She searched everywhere. She threatened to make the earth barren forever and thus destroy all of humankind if she did not find Persephone. Finally, the goddess Hecate told Demeter where Persephone was. Enraged by the news of Persephone's kidnapping, she refused to return to Mount Olympus. Instead she roamed the earth in disguise of a mortal, forbidding the trees to bear fruit and the earth to nurture vegetables and herbs. Hermes, the messenger of the gods, summoned by Zeus, went down to Hades to fetch Persephone. Hades shrugged and agreed to let her go. Persephone had not eaten a single thing—whether from sorrow, loss of appetite, or stubbornness—since her arrival in the Underworld. But before she left, Hades urged Persephone to eat a single pomegranate seed. Sadly, this was a trick: Anyone who tastes the food of Hades must remain in the Underworld. Rhea—the mother of Zeus, Demeter, and Hades—decided something that her children reluctantly accepted: Since Persephone had eaten there, she had to spend at least part of every year in the Underworld. Rhea suggested that Persephone spend six months as Queen of the Underworld and the rest of the year with Demeter. After agreeing to the deal, Demeter restored Earth's fertility and returned to Olympus with Persephone. But when the time came for Persephone to return to the Underworld, the earth became colder and less fertile. The End. Here is another myth from http://greece.mrdonn.org/greekgods/pandora.html (I have copied it here from the website) Once up a time, a long time ago, there were two brothers named Epimetheus and Prometheus. They were good gods. They had good hearts. They were good friends. One day, Prometheus got in trouble with Zeus. Angry over something or other, Zeus had declared that man did not deserve fire. Because he had a kind heart, and he knew how much man needed fire for food and warmth, Prometheus gave man the secret of fire even though Zeus had told all the gods not to do that. Zeus was furious that his order had been ignored. As punishment, Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock for many years. But that was not enough punishment, not for Zeus. Once Prometheus was chained to a rock, Zeus went after Prometheus' brother, the gentle, kind-hearted Epimetheus. Zeus did not chain Epimetheus to a rock. Zeus had a more sneaky punishment in mind. First, Zeus ordered the gods' handyman, the maker of things - Hephaestus - to make Zeus a daughter. Hephaestus made a woman out of clay, a beautiful woman. He brought her to life, and then brought her to Zeus. Zeus named his lovely new daughter Pandora. Zeus knew that Epimetheus was lonely. Zeus told Epimetheus that his brother had to be punished and that's why he was chained to a rock. But Zeus felt sorry that this punishment left Epimetheus without the company of his brother. That's why Zeus had decided to give Pandora in marriage to Epimetheus. Epimetheus was kind-hearted and gentle and thoughtful, but he was no fool. He knew Zeus was up to something. But he loved Pandora at first sight. Zeus gave the newlyweds a gift. Some say it was a jar which was locked. It came with a note. The note said: "DO NOT OPEN." Attached to the note was a key. It was all very curious. You can guess what happened next. It was Pandora whose curiosity got the better of her. One day, she used the key to open the box. As she raised the lid, out flew all the bad things in the world today - envy, sickness, hate, disease. Pandora slammed the lid closed, but it was too late. Epimetheus heard her weeping. He came running. Pandora opened the lid to show him it was empty. Quickly, before she could slam the lid shut, one tiny bug flew out. He gave Pandora a big smile in thanks for his freedom and flew away. That tiny bug was named Hope. And Hope made all the difference in the world. A nice story, don't you think? Anyway, that's all for this post. I hope you enjoyed reading Greek Myths as much as I did! Keep reading! The spectators stare at the batsman, waiting. If he makes this hit, his team will win. If he doesn't, his country will lose. The bowler hurls the ball towards him, and the viewers inhale sharply. He hits it with all his might and... (click read more to find out what happens next)

Hiya! Today I decided to have a quick Survey or two for you! This will help me get to know YOU better. Why don't you try it quickly? Hello! Do you ever feel bored? I do. A lot. But I've got some pretty good ways to get rid of boredom. Here are eight things to do when you are bored. (Written with rainbow colours! :) 8. Read a book Yes, get a great book, get cozy and comfortable in your bed and read. It's a good way of passing the time and can be quite fun too. So pick up a book and READ! 7. Draw a picture You can always pick up a pencil and a paper and draw something. You could doodle some silly drawings or sketch a realistic picture or colour in one of your previous drawings. So try it! 6. Play a game with friends Why don't you invite your friends over and play a nice old game of Hide and Seek or have a race? Playing with your friends is always fun, and time sure flies when you're having fun. 5. Play online games How about you pick up your electronic device and complete that ultra-hard level in Candy Crush Saga or beat your high score in Temple Run. It's fun to play some electronic games or online games on a laptop! 4. Write a story Get a notepad and pencil or open a Microsoft Word Document and let your imagination flow. You can write about whatever you want, and if you don't have ideas, visit this website. http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/ 3. Play with your pet If you have a pet, a cat or a dog or a fish or a turtle, why don't you spend some time with it and feed it and make it happy? Pets always cheer you up and get rid of boredom. 2. Eat or Cook Eating or cooking or drinking something can cure boredom so start munching on something yummy while you watch T.V or try a new recipe. 1.Read The Violet Blogger Come visit this blog anytime to read fun things and posts. You could remind me to post too! I hope you enjoyed these fun things to do when you're bored! Extra! The first person to post 10 comments on my blog in one month gets to be featured on my next post and a link to their website on my post and homepage. No silly, unreasonable comments please! ;) I bet everyone waits for Summer to begin. Waiting in anticipation for the glorious season to start. No more long, dreary, miserable days of teachers ranting on and on about things you don't care about. Days and days of jumping and skipping and playing in the park with that ear-to-ear smile on your tanned face. The lovely feeling of slippery sliding smooth ice cream gliding on your tongue followed by the sweet fizzy taste of lemonade. Splashing in the water like you have no care in the world. Lying on the beige beach, the smooth feeling of sand tingling your skin as you flip through your favourite book or magazine. Oh, the delights of Summer! But wait, there's a catch. The HEAT. It's horrible. As you do your favourite summertime activities, you have to bear that hot, blazing, blistering heat on your skin and wear slimy sunscreen to avoid a rash. I wonder if you think Summer is a delight or a dread. I myself am not quite sure because I kind of miss school, the smiling faces of my friends, the awesome teachers and lots of more things. But I enjoy waking up at 11 o' clock in the morning and sleeping late at 2:00 AM too. Let me know what you think in the comments section because I really enjoy reading everyone's comments and replying to them! PS. I am travelling probably on the 15th of July so might not here from me for a while. |
