Hey there readers! After reading my blog, I bet you wanted to create one too (hopefully, because writing a blog is fun!). This post will help YOU create a blog of your own! Step One: Decide a blog topic. The most important thing about a blog is a blog topic. Before you start, decide what you want to blog about. It could be about your travels or advice or on a particular topic or anything you want. My blog is about everything. Step Two: Find a website to create your blog. Of course you can create a html website, but using website such as Weebly which already have blog templates is much easier. I personally prefer Weebly, but you can use Wordpress or Edublogs. (This tutorial is for Weebly.) Step Three: Create a name and domain name for your blog. Think about your Blog topic and create a name and domain name (the website address that you put in the box at the top.) For example, if your name is Tia and you want to write about your travels, you could have the name TiaTravelsNow at www.tia-travels-now.com Step Four: Choose a template and start creating your website. There are dozens of cool templates and themes for you to try out on Weebly so choose one and start personalizing it according to your Blog Topic. (If you're using Weebly, visit Weebly.com and Create an account. Then press Create Site and follow the instructions. Then you get templates to choose from.) Step Five: Your First Blog Post. Now that you've created your website, Start your first post. You'll have to introduce yourself, Talk a little about your blog and why not add a picture? Make it so exciting that people will want to come again and again. Step Six: Keep on blogging when you can. Don't forget to blog! Make people like your blog a lot so they come back even if you didn't write for a long period of time. Tips! *A good idea is to write down your blog post ideas somewhere (I use Evernote, an app, on my tab) so you can use them when you are idealess. *Also write down posts on your computer so you can just copy and paste them to your blog if you're readers are hungry for more posts(I'll start doing that now!) *Go to the Contact tab on my blog and send me the link to your blog. If I really like it, I might write a post about my readers' blogs. And that's it, In 6 Simple Steps!

Hiya! Today I decided to have a quick Survey or two for you! This will help me get to know YOU better. Why don't you try it quickly? Hello! Do you ever feel bored? I do. A lot. But I've got some pretty good ways to get rid of boredom. Here are eight things to do when you are bored. (Written with rainbow colours! :) 8. Read a book Yes, get a great book, get cozy and comfortable in your bed and read. It's a good way of passing the time and can be quite fun too. So pick up a book and READ! 7. Draw a picture You can always pick up a pencil and a paper and draw something. You could doodle some silly drawings or sketch a realistic picture or colour in one of your previous drawings. So try it! 6. Play a game with friends Why don't you invite your friends over and play a nice old game of Hide and Seek or have a race? Playing with your friends is always fun, and time sure flies when you're having fun. 5. Play online games How about you pick up your electronic device and complete that ultra-hard level in Candy Crush Saga or beat your high score in Temple Run. It's fun to play some electronic games or online games on a laptop! 4. Write a story Get a notepad and pencil or open a Microsoft Word Document and let your imagination flow. You can write about whatever you want, and if you don't have ideas, visit this website. http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/ 3. Play with your pet If you have a pet, a cat or a dog or a fish or a turtle, why don't you spend some time with it and feed it and make it happy? Pets always cheer you up and get rid of boredom. 2. Eat or Cook Eating or cooking or drinking something can cure boredom so start munching on something yummy while you watch T.V or try a new recipe. 1.Read The Violet Blogger Come visit this blog anytime to read fun things and posts. You could remind me to post too! I hope you enjoyed these fun things to do when you're bored! Extra! The first person to post 10 comments on my blog in one month gets to be featured on my next post and a link to their website on my post and homepage. No silly, unreasonable comments please! ;) Hey there! I don't have much time to blog today so I decided to have a quick challenge and I want you to try. Yes, you. The person staring at the screen. Complete this story with a funny ending and remember to use good punctuation, grammar and creativity. To enter, post a comment on this post with your story ending. Finally, I thought as I sat down at my writing desk, I can begin working on my new bestseller story. I had everything I needed. A pencil, an eraser, a few spare pencils and erasers. A 50 page notepad, a comfy seat and quiet. I put my pencil on the paper. I wrote a letter- F. And another- i. and some more, n-a-l-l-y. And a comma. I had started to write another word when I heard a Bang! Bang! Bang! I knew it was my neighbour Don and his annoying set of drums. I put my head out the window and yelled, "Stop drumming Don!" The banging stopped. I sat down and wrote, 'I thought' but that's all I could write before I heard a Waah! Waah! Waah! I knew it was my neighbour baby Lilly and her annoying cries. I put my head out the window and yelled, "Stop crying Lilly!" The crying stopped. I started writing more, 'as I sat' but immediately, I heard the sound of Mr. Dawson's Lawn mower vrooming. I just couldn't bear all this noise. So what did I do? I'll tell you... Finish the story! A Challenge From The Violet Blogger P.S. I don't care how crazy or abnormal or impossible you make the ending (It's already crazy. You can't stop a baby from crying be yelling at it.) as long as you try. Hint: The story the person is writing is the story itself. (The first sentence he writes is Finally, 'I thought as I sat down at my writing desk, I can begin working on my new bestseller story.'and that's the first sentence of this story. )( Sorry, It's a bit complicated. ) I bet everyone waits for Summer to begin. Waiting in anticipation for the glorious season to start. No more long, dreary, miserable days of teachers ranting on and on about things you don't care about. Days and days of jumping and skipping and playing in the park with that ear-to-ear smile on your tanned face. The lovely feeling of slippery sliding smooth ice cream gliding on your tongue followed by the sweet fizzy taste of lemonade. Splashing in the water like you have no care in the world. Lying on the beige beach, the smooth feeling of sand tingling your skin as you flip through your favourite book or magazine. Oh, the delights of Summer! But wait, there's a catch. The HEAT. It's horrible. As you do your favourite summertime activities, you have to bear that hot, blazing, blistering heat on your skin and wear slimy sunscreen to avoid a rash. I wonder if you think Summer is a delight or a dread. I myself am not quite sure because I kind of miss school, the smiling faces of my friends, the awesome teachers and lots of more things. But I enjoy waking up at 11 o' clock in the morning and sleeping late at 2:00 AM too. Let me know what you think in the comments section because I really enjoy reading everyone's comments and replying to them! PS. I am travelling probably on the 15th of July so might not here from me for a while. |
