I am a Harry Potter fan. A dangerous one, at the least. But this unhealthy obsession didn't come from nowhere. So what did spark my undying interest for the world of Harry Potter? (might include spoilers, watch out) First of all, I hate myself for watching the movies before the books, but unfortunately, I did. I watched the entire series last summer, and I have to say, that's not when I began obsession over it. Because let's face it. Even though movies are great and all, nothing can beat J.K. Rowling's masterpieces. So anyway, after watching the movies, I decided that I would have to read the books, since there was so much that I didn't understand, so many loose ends left to tie up. That's when it began. The first book was magical. I loved every bit of it, and found myself wanting to read it again and again. It was so amazing reading the first adventures, where it all began for J.K. Rowling. The second one, of course, was definitely better and I grew to love the characters much more. The third was definitely my favourite. The time travelling and the way the slowly began to grow up drew me in. The fourth book was where it started to get dark. When murders started happening. I remember reading it, turning every page with anticipation, never wanting to stop. I've to say that this was my least favourite, but I still loved it because it's Harry Potter after all. The deaths were chilling, but that just made the whole thing better. By now I was a fan. A diehard fan. The sixth book was everything I hoped for, J.K. Rowling's words bringing life to the story like the movies never had. (not the movies' fault though) The seventh was the saddest. When so many cherished characters died. The final battle between good and evil, that my Harry Potter story had ended. That was before I discovered Pottermore, and started reading every single article, making sure I knew every little detail about everything. Then I started reading fanfictions, my sole comforter, that the story had not really ended, and J.K. Rowling had left us with so much more to explore. So I hadn't grown up with Harry Potter. So I hadn't had the thrill and satisfaction of waiting for the next book or movie to come out. Doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan. I love the world of Harry Potter, and although it's a geeky and sort of weird obsession, I. Don't. Care. Because it's awesome. My favourite quote-

Finally! Another Harry Potter fan! I agree, Fred's death was the worst thing J.K Rowling has done. You know muggles, they think Harry Potter is odd.

Hey again! Pottermore really did help me see the magical world and possibilities of Harry Potter. I never sought fan-fictions as they didn't really see the end how I wanted them to be. I create my own fan fictions now. Talking about book series, the Hunger Games, and Percy Jackson series opened up a whole new world, where capitalism and mythology come to life. Try reading those.
