You're at school, just minding your own business, when someone comes up to you. They laugh and make an insulting remark about you. How do you react? 1. DON'T lose your temper If someone insults you, just remember to never get overly angry. The last thing you want to do is attack them or physically hurt them. Keep cool, take a deep breath, and don't punch the person. Chances are, they're only trying to provoke you, and maybe even trying to get you into trouble. 2. Ignore them
This might work sometimes. Just roll your eyes and walk away. When someone insults you, they are probably only trying to annoy you, and if you act like you don't care, they will be discouraged. 3. Laugh it off or agree Sometimes, it's okay to just go along with it. Someone call you shorty? Laugh with them and agree. Don't be offended and don't take it as an insult and the person will most likely stop. 4. Think of a good comeback Don't let them get the last laugh. Reply with a witty comment and walk away. For example, if someone calls you fat, you could reply with 'Yeah, at least I'm not stuck with an ugly face like you.' 5. Know when they are taking it too far Making rude remarks is a part of daily life. There will always be at least one person that doesn't like you, and you can't help that. However, when someone starts commenting on your religion, race, or gender, that crosses the line.
