How small am I?
You might think your problems and difficulties are huge, and that your trials and tribulations are beyond arduous. But really, you are very small in this universe, even though you think you're pretty big. Let's start with the continent you're on. If you live in North America, you're only one person among 528.7 million. If you live in South America, you're only one person among 387.5 million If you live in Europe, you're only one person among 742.5 million If you live in Asia you're only one person among 4.427 billion! If you live in Australia, you're only one person among 23.13 million If you live in Africa you're only one person among 1.111 billion Wherever you live, you're pretty small in comparision to the millions of people around you. And think about it, you are one individual in the midst of SEVEN BILLION other people. That makes you feel pretty small, huh? Your percentage on Earth is around 0.00000000142857. But that's only on planet Earth. There are 7 other planets in this solar system, majority of which are larger than Earth. And even that's nothing in comparision to the sun. All the planets and the sun are very small in our galaxy, the milky way, though. And the Milky Way is completely miniscule in the seemingly infinite universe. If that's too complicated, here's a simpler explanation. Your mass is probably between 20 to 80 kilograms, but usually not above 100kg. The mass of the universe, on the other hand, is estimated to be 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 kilograms (it has 54 zeroes), and that's only as far as we know. Conclusion? We are a very small part of this universe.

C- Curiousity killed the cat D- Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. E- Every cloud has a silver lining. X- X is a very uncommon letter (don't judge, it's hard) Y- You are what you eat Z- Zip your lip when necessary I hope this helped you. Or at least amused you in the slightest. What is silence?
Silence is posion. It seeps into your blood and leaves your blood paralyzed. It fills you with an empty feeling of nervousness, as your hands begin to tremor and shake, and you long for an antidote for this poison. Silence is a spell. It lingers in the air, thick and heavy. It caresses you, it smoothes you conscience and reassures you. It is calm and still, you don't want to break this enchanting spell with even a whisper. Silence is powerful. It conveys more than words. It is pure magic, so much wisdom gained from the silence. Silence casts a shadow. It is restless, lets thoughts creep into your brain. You might be restless, you might fidget, but just admire the silence. Can you talk without speaking? Have you ever considered the thought that silence is the answer? People spout endless questions and speak with no end, but if they commit to silence, it beholds wonders. Maybe a vow of global silence, where everyone stills their mind and holds their tongues, can make people understand the blissful peace of silence. Sometimes, silence is better than words. Try being silent for an hour and see what happens. Stop talking and start listening. Have you heard that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, the same way you shouldn't judge a blog by its design?
I think that the way your blog looks is really important, because if it looks good, people will probably want to read it. Imagine you click on a link and you are lead to a blog. The blog has crazy, childish looking fonts and bright neon colours that don't match. It's hard to read the text because of the colour and it kind of hurts your eyes. Would you want to read it? I'm guessing the answer is no TeXT Like tHIS is HarD tO ReAd aNd lOoKS UnaPpeaLinG aND cHilDisH Here are some tips for making your blog look good and have a simple design. Colours. Instead of having a bunch of random colours, choose one main colour for your blog. This can change according to seasons, holidays, celebrations, etc. Then choose contrasting colours like black, grey or white that go well with your colour and make it the background. The text, title, icons, bars can be your main colour. Archives. Using Archives and Categories make it easier to find your old blog posts and posts under a certain category. Add an archives list to your site that has posts from each month, or add categories for your blog posts. This is essential for easy-navigating and access to old posts. Fonts. Don't use those wild, silly fonts (You should use these only for the title if you want) because it can be difficult to read or might not be very appealing. Go with something simple, like Calibri or Times New Roman. However, if you think those are boring, choose something that looks a little different but still easy to see. Pictures. Pictures you use should be related to the theme of your blog. The first page of your website should have an awesome picture or be attractive. In the example shown above on the left, there's a picture of a rocket that immediately catches your attention, meanwhile on the right there's a bright, garish design with a photo of a baby saying something. Which one do you like? So that's pretty much it. Overall, your blog design should reflect you and your blog, and you don't have to follow these rules at all. In the end, all that matters is that you are happy with your blog, and remember, your blog is supposed to be to impress yourself, not others. Have fun with your blogging! :) February's finally here! Don't forget that there's an extra day in February. The second month of the year, by which time most people have given up their New Year resolutions. Not me though. One of my new year resolutions was to set goals for myself each month, and that goal was inspired by this blog, A Little Bit Of Sunshine. My Resolutions for January and if I followed them.
So here are my new resolutions for February! Write more: I think I should write more poems and short stories this month. Have a blogging schedule: Maybe set up a particular time to blog every other day or so. Read up to 9 books or more: I haven't been reading much lately, so I'll download e-books and get books from the library. Practice my typing skills: I want to improve the speed of my typing because I'm not that quick with my fingers. It all started in 1937, when Walt Disney released Snow White. That was when the long line of Disney Princess movies started, inspired by the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales. The only tear in the fabric here is how the Disney Princess movies portray women and girls. Considering that millions of young girls watch Disney Movies, and that it causes a big influence on them, the way females were shown in Disney movies was not really admirable.
Let's start with Snow White, the 'fairest of them all.' She spends her time working and waiting for her 'Prince Charming' to come and whisk her away. Then, she finds a cottage and earns her stay by cooking and cleaning. After that, she almost dies, and'her' prince comes along and is stunned by her beauty. The prince kisses her and she is brought back to life. Doesn't this just teach children that outer beauty is all that matters? Next is Sleeping Beauty, also known as Aurora. Even though the movie is named in her honour, she is only in 18 minutes of the film! In a movie of more than an hour, Aurora makes an appearance for 18 minutes and has only 18 lines in the movie! And if you remember the movie, the first gift that the baby was given was BEAUTY, and then the GIFT OF SONG. Not intelligence, or a sense of humour or anything like that. Again, that gives children the impression that beauty is the most important thing. Cinderella. Basically, she's a girl who cleans and cooks, much like Snow White. She waits for a prince to come and rescue her, when she is perfectly capable of doing it herself. And don't forget that the prince is only attracted to her because of her gorgeous dress and how beautiful she looks. Once again, the message conveyed is that girls have to wait for their Prince Charming to come rescue them and that beauty is above all. What I liked about 2013 movie Frozen was that Elsa didn't need a prince, and that she saved Anna with sisterly love, not a 'true love's kiss.' It also showed that you can't just fall in love and marry a person who you met nearly a minute ago, which happens in all the movies mentioned previously. All the princesses above met the prince after waking up from a deep sleep or after dancing with them for a couple of hours or another scenario like that. Clearly, the princes weren't attracted by their personality, more by their looks. I hope this wasn't too harsh, and this was only my opinion. :) We've all heard of the 7 wonders of the world, from the Leaning Tower to the Pyramids in Giza. But how about we take a trip beyond Earth, and discover the Seven Wonders of the Solar System? Fasten your seat belts, you're in for an otherworldly adventure! Don't wory about this being a boring information text about the Solar System, because you are in for some shocks in this post.
Sometimes, you need a little motivation to do things. You know when you are feeling demotivated or depressed and you see a quote that can change your mood completely. Maybe not completely, but it perks you up a bit, right? Here are some quotes, and I'll tell you what I think of it. The meaning of this quote: Sometimes good things come to an end. It might be sad, but look at the bright side. It was great while it lasted. This quote is really good for when you've lost something or someone. You know when you look up at the sky and you see a star? (Maybe you don't because of all the bright lights, clouds and pollution) That star can only be seen because of the darkness of the night sky. Same thing for your life. The harder the things you are going through, the better you can do. This quote means that you can be the best, awesome, most fantastic person in the world, but there's always going to be someone who hates you. Or at least dislikes you. Don't let that discourage you. Haters gonna hate. You can think of the practical, real, smart solution for something, or you can be creative and do something different. Logic is not everything, sometimes you need an imagination to really win. Did these quotes encourage you? Or did you interpret them in a different way?

Sometimes studying can be kind of frustrating and hard. So the best way to study effectively is to create a timetable. The only problem is, how do you make a timetable? Don't fret, here's a simple set of instructions for how to make a timetable on Microsoft Excel. Note: This is only an example and is very unrealistic. Make sure you are realistic when it comes to making your timetable. |
